Judy earned her Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School and her undergraduate in Psychology from the State University of New York. She worked full time in the public defender’s office for five years in New York’s family court system working with indigent clients in all areas of family law such as custody, visitation, juvenile delinquency, abuse, neglect, termination of parental rights and in all areas of support matters such as de novo petitions, modifications, and violations, and has experience with out of state Orders and is familiar with UIFSA and UCCJEA laws. Judy was also on the assigned counsel list as an attorney for children in four counties and was an attorney on assigned counsel lists for criminal matters in city and town courts. Additionally, Judy also worked in private practice representing clients in matrimonial and family matters as well as general civil litigation.
Accordingly, Judy has advocated for her client in approximately 2,000 settlements/negotiations, often working with county and state agencies, such as the department of probation and the department of social services (department for children and families), attorneys for the children, and of course, opposing counsel. Additionally, Judy has tried over 200 cases and is well-versed in litigation, Court procedure, and trial tactics.
Judy has voluntarily assisted many low income clients on a pro bono (free) or sliding scale basis, has been a licensed foster parent in Pasco county, and volunteers time to community based organizations to assist animals in need. Judy is a very strong advocate with a compassionate heart and strong sense of justice.
